Christmas Twins 12/28/2007

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year, and our kids were spoiled rotten! But it;s their first Christmas, so thats ok.
I took the babies to their 3 month check up yesterday. Joss is 10lbs 4oz, Jaxon is 9lbs 14oz. They are getting so big.
While at the Dr, I was feeding Jaxon a bottle, and sure enough 10 min after he ate he was screaming- as usual. I was almost glad the Dr was able to see him like that. He said that it didn't sound like colic which is more of an uncomfortable gassy, fussiness, he said Jaxon sounded more like a pain cry.  So sad!
He scheduled Jax for an upper GI X-ray at Primary Children's Hospital next week. Jaxon will have to swallow this dye, then they will take a bunch of X-rays of his tummy  to see if the muscle that connects the stomach to the intestines is underdeveloped. It will also show if he is refluxing. They got their second RSV immunization which is 1600.00 per baby per month  for 5 months. Thank heaven for insurance! They each got 4 immunization shots and they were not happy.
I hope we can figure out what we need to do to make Jaxon feel better. He just started smiling really big last night. They are both getting so big, and cuter by the day.

Cute!

Like their matching Christmas clothes?

Double trouble

Dual twin burping. Doesn't this look funny?

Mommy daughter cuddle.

You are probably wondering why anyone would post a picture so ugly of themselves. But Jason snapped this of me sleeping with Joss this morning. It is pretty dang cute of her snuggling to me. She just wanted to sleep with her momma last night :)

Idaho

This weekend was the twins first trip to Idaho.  They had fun with their cousins Jase and Jack, and got to meet their cousins Rex and Sam for the first time. It was a quick trip, and it proved to be very exhausting on mom and dad. We decided twins don't sleep well in new surroundings. But we had a fun time being with family for the holidays.

Grandpa and Grandma Browning

The babies love Grandpa and Grandma Browning, and so do we.

Pretty View

The Grand Canyon of Twin Falls. So Pretty!

Bad weather!

The drive home was scary and treacherous.  A 3 hour drive took us over 6 hours!

Snuggly Twinners 12/19/2007

Yesterday Jaxon was being his Colicky self and could not settle down. So I snuggled him next to Josselyn and she put her arm on his shoulder and grabbed him, it was so cute. As you can see it worked! I like to have them sleep next to each other because they can feel another warm body next to them and it helps them sleep.  They like to snuggle!

What a difference 2 1/2 months makes

Who would have thought my 3lb babies would have gotten so chubby? I love it!

I decided it was time for a change. My hair has been pretty much the same length for 9 years. It has been slicked back in a pony tail for 2 months since the kids will pull on it, and it is hard to nurse the babies with hair in the way. So I decided it was time for a change.

Poor baby Jaxon has been miserable. He leads a very sad life. He has no moments of happiness. He is so colicky. He is either asleep or screaming, but mostly screaming.Josselyn will smile, and coo, and lay there awake and happy. Not Jaxon, he is just sad all the time. It breaks our hearts! It is hard enough taking care of 2 babies, let alone when one of them is crying all the time.
There is nothing more depressing then waking up in the middle of the night, feeding Josselyn, burping her, changing her diaper, rocking her back to sleep. Then feeding Jaxon, burping, changing diaper, and then pacing the house for hours while he screams. Then when he is finally passed out and we lay him in bed, then Josselyn is awake and hungry again because it has been 4 hours.
The last 3 nights Jason and I have both had about a total of 3 hours of sleep.
I just feel so bad for him. I have been searching the web, and asking our Dr's for remedies for colic. Pretty much the consensus is just hold your baby and let them scream. There is really nothing that works like magic. If anyone has any suggestions, we would love to hear them.

The other day Jaxon started crying so I propped him up next to Josselyn and ran to my kitchen to get him a bottle. On my way back I noticed he had stopped crying, then I looked and saw Josselyn kissing his forehead. I ran and grabbed my camera and caught her in action. It was so cute! I thought he wanted a bottle, but he just wanted some kisses from his big sister.

Our babies are bulimic. They binge on gulping down an entire bottle, and then the second I lay them in bed and turn around- they purge it all up. I think I have been watching too much Access Hollywood while feeding them, and the pressure to be thin from Hollywood is already too much for them to handle. With all the throwing up, I am wondering how Josselyn is maintaining her double chins.
Once my skinny arms get used to holding two 6 lb babies, then they are 7lb, babies, now they are 8 lb babies- I don’t think my strength will ever catch up.

Jason woke up at 430 this morning with pink eye. I know how contagious it is so I made him scrub down the door knobs, light switches, keyboard. Remote controls, fridge handles. Pretty much anything he touched with Clorox disinfectant at 4:30 in the morning.  If me or these babies get it I will shoot myself, they are cranky enough, and I am exhausted enough without being sick.

I thought this was pretty dang cute!
