The babies got RSV immunizations today. It protects 100% against RSV which is a terrible respiratory infection that babies can get. It is very dangerous, especially for preemies. They got all their 2 month immunizations on Tuesday. Joss is 8lbs 1 oz, and Jax is 7lbs 8 oz. They are both growing well. Based on being 2 months old they are only in the 3rd percentile for growth.. but based on their original due date they would be 11 days old today, in which case they register on the 25th percentile. Josselyn is completely off her oxygen and we had the Home Care pick it up yesterday. Yay! She has been doing great! Jaxon on the other hand has colic. He just cries and cries and will not sleep. We have to hold him and just pace around the house with him. We thought he might be allergic to cows milk, so I went off dairy this week, and we supplemented him with dairy free formula as well. There was no change at all. So we came to the conclusion that he has colic and is not allergic to milk. Yay for me, cause I eat about a pint of ice cream a night and Rice Dream just doesn't quite cut it. But sad for baby Jaxon. He just feels so crummy. We got some mouth drops from the Dr today that are supposed to help relax his stomach muscles to give him some relief. Wish us luck!
If any of you could have seen me today at the babies Dr appointment you would have laughed. I had Jaxon in a sling over my left shoulder, the diaper bag over my right shoulder, my purse in my left hand, and Josselyn in her car seat in my right hand. I look like a pack mule! It is not easy venturing out into the world by myself with twins.

I am learning that sometimes it is OK just to let one baby cry while I am feeding the other one. It is impossible to take care of both babies at the same time all the time. Usually one is asleep while the other is awake. Or one is happy and content to be in the swing or the bouncer. But every once in a while both babies are mad as hell and I have to just to the best I can to balance who needs what.

Josselyn is a chunky 7lbs 5 oz, and Jaxon is a healthy 6lbs 13 oz. They have outgrown their preemie clothes and are now wearing real baby clothes. Josselyn’s favorite game is to spit her pacifier out and then scream, then I pick it up and wash it off, and give it back to her, then she sucks on it for 20 seconds then we start the whole fun process over again. Jaxon enjoys screaming for no apparent reason. He also likes to scratch his face and dig at his eyes. I have to keep little gloves on his hands or else he will tear up his face. His nails grow so fast.

My girlfriend Amber Sellers (picturethis2911@yahoo.com) came to our house and took a bunch of pictures of the babies for their announcements. I will upload some of our favorites for you to see.

Even though we are getting audited by the IRS,  and are buried in medical bills… we are feeling so blessed and have so much to be thankful for this holiday season. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we sure did!

Today would have been my due date, except Jaxon and Josselyn decided they wanted to be born 7 weeks ago. Josselyn is 6lbs 14 oz, and Jaxon is 6lbs 6 oz. We have not given Josselyn oxygen for about 5 days now. She is doing really good.  Jaxon got circumsized on Friday. They don't do that in the NICU, and his pediatrician wanted us to wait until he was a little bigger. Little did we know that the older they get, the more nerves they develop and the worse it is. So the poor little guy had a really hard time. He was miserable all weekend. He kept throwing up and wouldn't keep anything down. We had to give him pedialite instead of milk until his tummy was settled and he could finally eat again.  Both babies are doing a lot better now and getting big and strong. I can't imagine still being pregnant up until now. I was getting pretty miserable, and being confined to my bed didn't make it any easier. I am so happy to have been able to have my babies for these last 7 weeks already.

We are slowly figuring out what we are doing. Sometimes the babies sleep during the day, sometimes they sleep at night, sometimes one is awake and the other is asleep. We just try to help each other out at night, sometimes we switch off and take shifts, it all just depends. During the day I try to get the laundry, dishes, house cleaning done while they are having their morning nap. Then in the afternoon, I try to take a nap while they are sleeping. Only problem is, Jaxon can be sound asleep and he knows the second I set him down. He insists on being held. The baby sling has become my best friend. Now I can go about my business with two free hands and trick him into thinking he is being held.

So anyone else get $186,661.38 worth of medical bills this week? And they still keep coming. I sure hope my insurance will cover most of this.

Today Grandma and Grandpa Browning went back to Idaho.  They were so awesome to have around. Carolyn cleaned out my pantry, cleaned my oven, did countless loads of laundry, deep cleaned all my bathrooms and helped take care of the babies day and night. Dad put new storage shelves in my laundry room, cleaned out the garage, dusted my whole house... and bless their hearts paced my house in the middle of the night with which ever baby  wouldn't go to sleep. To my surprise even my dad changed diapers, bottle fed the babies, changed their clothes, was up in the middle of the night helping with them. Jason and I have the best parents in the world. My babies are so lucky to have 3 sets of grandparents who love them and have been such a HUGE help to me. I don't know what I would do with out you all!!!  Now tomorrow marks my first day of being a real mommy with no help. Wish me luck!

Jason’s uncle John Vaillancourt passed away this week. We are really going to miss him.   Grandma and Grandpa Browning came down from Idaho to stay with us this weekend to help out with the babies so we could attend the funeral service, and spend time with his family from Arizona. It was nice to see all of Jason’s family. We don’t get to see them enough. We let the no visiting rule slide tonight so his family from out of state could see the babies on their way to the airport. Here is a picture of Jason’s twin cousins Karey and Korey holding our twins.

Make sure you check out the photos section, there are several new pictures!

Guess how long it takes to get 2 babies fed, and changed, and bathed, and in car seats with oxygen tanks and monitors and stroller, and diaper bags packed to go to a Dr appointment? Evidently a lot longer than I had planned for.  But, I always have to wait in the waiting room for a half hour when I go to my Dr appointments , so it is about time they wait for us for once :)
Yesterday we took the babies to their Dr appointment for a check up.  Joss is 5lbs 13 oz, and Jax is 5lbs 10 oz. We took bets on how much Josselyn weighed because we thought for sure she would be over 6 lbs, but her chubby cheeks and double chins were fooling us, she still has a few more ounces to go.  Josselyn was born a little tongue tied, so the Dr snipped under her tongue and now it is much better. She just looked up at him and smiled after he was done, she didn't even cry. They are both growing fast and getting better by the day. Josselyn is still on oxygen when she eats though. We are hoping they will be ready for visitors in about a month.
When Grammy Betsy stayed for a week we did snooky curl hair and pink toenails for Joss, and spiked mohawk for Jax. We had to change their clothes 5 times a day to be sure to get a picture of them in every outfit. When Grandma Ninny spent the night I was served fresh baked cookies and milk in bed at 7:00 am, and my house deep cleaned with laundry and dishes done with dinner baking in the crock pot. What will I do when they both go back to work????
Here is how my nights go... I sleep from about 8pm-12pm while Jason takes over. 1:00am feed Josselyn, burp her, change diaper, rock back to sleep. 2:00am Feed Jaxon, burp him, change diaper, rock back to sleep, 3:00 am Josselyns turn again because she is going through a growth spurt she eats every 2 hours. So as soon as one twin is done, and I am just laying my head on the pillow, the other one wakes up starving and fussing. So I pretty much look like hell since I haven't slept in days. Any time during the day, you will find me in my jammies, with messy hair, no make up and bags under my eyes with spit up and sour milk spilled on my shirt. My days of manicured nails, and cute clothes, make up and hair are now over... for now anyway. I am now a mother! Please tell me I will get back to my normal self eventually.

We took Jaxon to his first Dr appointment. He has reflux and was spitting up everything he was eating. He didn't gain any weight for a week. We have him on some nasty medicine now that he hates, but it has been helping.  Here are some pics of him at his first Dr appointment

Twins are 1 month old today.  They are doing great. Joss is 5lbs 2oz, and Jax is 4lbs 15oz.  They love to cuddle up together. I came in to check on them and Josselyn was sucking on Jaxon's fingers. It was so funny.   They just snuggle  up with each other all day.  It has been so nice having Grammy stay here this week to help out.  Babies other Grandma is helping out next week.  Be sure to check out the new pictures I posted on the photos section of the website.  I am an obsessed mom, I just can't stop taking pictures. Every moment with these two is a kodak moment!
