Mmmm... coconut ice cream bar. It was really cold, so it was kind of a love/hate experience.

Snuggly sleepy babies. So precious!

Teddy bear ears. Her hair is growing so fast. I can't wait to play with it when it gets longer.

Fun stuff 08/26/2008

Hey Jaxon, Stop hanging on Josselyns bouncer when she's in it. Don't you know it messes up her jumping rhythm when you hang on the outside of it?

Muffin Chops

Joss and Uncle matt have a special bond. I have a feeling he will be beating up some teenage boys in her honor in about 16 years.

Giving mom a break

Morgy rides. Maybe we can attach a sleigh to her this winter and teach the babies to say "Mush, Mush."

Grandma spinned this chair in a circle until she was dizzy, but it made Jax fall asleep.

The babies bunk beds at the cabin in a few years. I think they like it.

Hanging out 08/22/2008

We went to visit Daddy at his office yesterday. The babies enjoyed showing themselves off to everyone at Dads work and they got lots of attention.

This is the "twin 's box" at Grandma's work. She pushes them all around the warehouse in this cart. They love it. We had lunch at Grandma's work yesterday, then went to visit Daddy at his work.

This is Jaxon's Grimlin face. It cracks me up. He knows he's funny too. He makes sniffy noises and scrunches his nose up. It is hilarious! If you do it to him, he copies you.

A proud mother. 08/21/2008

I was having a moment. A tender loving moment. Reflecting on being a mother, and all of the blessings it brings. Jaxon was asleep. It was just special Jossy/Mommy time. Nothing else mattered in the world. Just her. My little angel. I was holding her on my lap and she was babbling, momma dadda babba. sputtering and drooling, a drooly mess only a mother could love. I was tickling her face, stroking and twirling her hair, smiling at her. I was amazed. She is mine. This is my little angel. I was overcome with pride and joy and squeezed her in so close to me. "Do you know how much I love you Joss", I said? Then it happened. She vomited on me. Wet baby vomit. In my hair, pooling in my ear, dripping down my neck, filling up my bra, sticking to my hair. Smelly applesauce-rice vomit. Ok, that did it. Special moment officially over.

Tired much? 08/20/2008

Looks like someone was a little tired. Guess she didn't want to finish her carrots.

Pool babies 08/18/2008

We had a great weekend spending time together as a family. We played at the park, they loved watching Morgan catch the frisbee. We went on long stroller walks, we swam in the pool, went on a nice drive. Here are some pictures of the twinners at the pool.

Nap after a long day!

They look cute and innocent, but these two were loud and squirmy all through church. Luckily we sat on the same row as another family with 1 year old twins, so they understood how we struggled to tether our children. Jaxon was flipping around and crawling up my stomach while making spitting noises. Josselyn would freak out unless she had a banana puff in her mouth at all times. Oh well, at least we attempted to feel the spirit.

Happy girls!

Sometimes I wish they still liked their binki's but they both refuse. It would be nice to have an instant cork to keep them quiet at certain times. They haven't wanted a pacifier since April. At least I don't have to worry about weening them off of it later. I have heard what a challenge that can be.

This is their first tubby together. It makes me nervous to bathe them at the same time. Jason was home so he helped me. They loved playing with all their new fun tubby toys together. (Auntie Jenny!)

I have one lefty and one righty. Jaxon is definitely left handed. He picks up everything with his left hand. Holds onto things, and pulls himself up with his left hand. I will put a cookie in his right hand, and he will switch it to his left hand to eat it. Josselyn is the exact opposite. She does everything with her right hand.

I did Josselyn's hair all twisted with these cute little clippies. Then one of them disappeared. I looked everywhere for it becaus I didn't want Jaxon to pick it up and eat it since he scavenges around my floor. Then I changed her diaper... Found It! It must have slipped down the back of her shirt while she was in her high chair. I sure wouldn't want to sit on that sharp thing. Poor girl.

NOW

Once a year the NICU has a reunion party where we can see how all the babies are doing and keep up with each other. There were a lot of familiar faces and we got to visit with some of our favorite nurses that helped take care of our babies for their first 4 1/2 weeks of life.
We ran into Jason's cousin Vicki's friend Summer, and her triplets Winter, Autumn, and Spring. They are 2 now and were running around in 3 different directions. Just a small glimpse in my future. I can't imagine how mothers with more multiples than twins handle things.
We got to reminisce with some other parents we met while in the NICU. Some had babies born at 27 and 28 weeks. We heard some of the sad stories of parents whose babies clung to life with brain bleeds, and undeveloped lungs that are still struggling today. Some were in the hospital for 3 months weighing only 1 1/2 pounds. It made us count our blessings and be so grateful for our healthy babies. I am so glad our twins weren't in there for too long and so thankful for all of the great Doctors and nurses that took such good care of them. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

THEN

Fun Saturday at the park! Josselyn is so funny on the swings her laugh is a squeeking noise she makes while inhaling really loud. It is so funny. She gets so excited and goes HEEEEEEEEE while sucking in. It is hard to describe but so funny. They both love the swing.

Gosh, having two babies is expensive!
