Special Day 07/30/2009

Picture
Yesterday we took the kids out for a special Mommy and Daddy day. Since they have a Choo Choo Train obsession right now we decided to take them on the Trax Train for 6 whole blocks and got off at Jordan Commons for dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. They held our hands and walked all the way from the Trax stop to the restaurant. There was a fun jungle gym play land to play in while we waited for our table. They shoved food in their mouths until they were ready to pass out then we carried their tired bodies back to the train for our ride home. They were in heaven!
Not very often do I dress them coordinating since it is so hard to find boy/girl matching clothes, but yesterday I did, and they looked so cute! I even did Joss' hair in special teddy bear messy buns. She was adorable!
See for yourself:

That's 9 spoons.

You cant see all of them, but that is 6 spoons.
This girl has at least 2 spoons in her hands all day. She will not share them, and she screams if you try to take them away from her. She made Jaxon eat his yogurt with a fork yesterday because she was holding every baby spoon in the house. I have to pry them out of her hands in the bath so I can wash her hands. She goes around the house saying "Poon, poon, please, poon?"

The new trick in this house is climbing up the bar-stools, onto the island and jumping off.
Also, Jaxon likes to push the chairs with the attached highchairs up against the counters and climb up them. From there the possibilities are endless. Play with butcher knives, discover fun things to drink in the medicine cabinet, see if there are any nice dishes to break. Of course I have always grabbed him before he gets into too much trouble. Let's hope I am able to keep my eyes on him all day and don't have to switch the load of laundry, or take a bag of trash outside, or pee... or blink.

Animals and more 07/26/2009

This weekend included a lot of animal watching. First the farm country on Friday where Joss got to ride a pony again, while Jaxon watched from the sidelines after clawing his way off the horse...again.
Then we went to Thanksgiving Point so that I could push a double stroller with 60 lbs of kids and crap through the flower gardens in 100 degree heat. Aunt Ceason came with us too.
Saturday we woke up super early and decided to go to the zoo before it got too hot. The kids enjoyed themselves a lot more this time because we let them get out of the stroller and run around. Jaxon spent most of the day on Jason's shoulders.  Then later that afternoon after their nap Grandma and Grandpa took them out to dinner and to Wheeler Farm to run around and see even more animals.
I think if the kids don't see another animal the rest of their life, they will have had their fill.
Here are some pictures of our weekend.

FAQ's 07/23/2009

Employee guy at Jamba Juice: "Wow, you didn't waste any time before having your second kid did ya. They look so close in age"
Me:  "Um, only wasted about 45 seconds."
Guy: "Oh, they're twins??"
Me: "Ya, can I get my Strawberry Sunrise now?"

Picture
I think I am going to wear a shirt to answer all the frequently asked questions from the  random strangers that always approach me.

Yes they are twins
No they are not identical
One is a boy, one is a girl
Yes twins run in my family, they run all over the place.
Yes they were born early
33 weeks
3lbs 11 oz 16 inches each
They were in the NICU for 4 weeks
Yes I have my hands full... full of love.
I'm glad it's me and not you too
How do I do it? I just do

Can I get on with my grocery shopping now please?

I got a new scanner so I thought it would be fun to scan in some baby pictures of Jason and I. We have always thought that Joss looks like me, and Jax looks like Jason.
I actually think Jax looks more like Jason as an adult than Jason as a baby because Jaxon is such a skinny little runt compared to Jason as a baby.
Joss has my same chubby face when I was a little girl so she looks more like me when I was a baby than me now.
Pardon the poor picture quality. How did we live before digital?
And you gotta love Jason's 70's hair. Hehe!

This poor guy got the worst of it...
Picture
And he ended up in here.

But then we took off our wet clothes and rocked out.
Picture
Then (without saying any names) While I was getting a certain little girl dressed, a certain little boy decided to dump over the trash can and pull out all of its contents.. which ended him up here... and then he had a little friend who felt bad for him being in time out so she joined him.

THE END.
