Hawaii Vacation 06/19/2008

Jaxon kissing his sister. So precious!

Twins holding hands. They love each other so much!

First piggies  9 months

The twins did very well in Hawaii. They each screamed for about an hour on the flights, but for an 8 hour flight, I guess that's not too bad. I think a few people hated us, but overall people were very understanding. We gave them bottles on takeoff and landing. That helped. So did the Benedryl. Grandma and Grandpa switched us off sleeping with a different baby every night. That was awesome! They loved the pool and loved being held constantly by all the family. They are a little spoiled now, and wouldn't let me put them down all day today.
Poor Josselyn fell off the bed in Hawaii. We were both sitting right there. She just rolled so fast. I cried and felt like the worst mom in the world. Everyone tried to console us by saying it happens to everyone. It doesn't make it any easier when it happens to you.
They both grew up so much in the last 2 weeks. Jaxon is crawling everywhere. Josselyn is sitting up and just looks so grown up.They have both gotten HUGE! Jaxon says Dada and Baba constantly. They loved eating avocados and bananas and got to try a little of whatever we were eating. We had a great time in Hawaii. We could not have done it without Grandma and Grandpa. I don't think we will be vacationing with just me Jason and the babies by ourselves until they are 12! It was a lot more work then just traveling by ourselves. There was really no "relaxing vacation" time. It was go go go, feeding, diaper changing, sunscreening, bouncing, walking, pushing the stroller the entire time.  So we decided this was a "trip" not a vacation. A "vacation" is when you leave the kids at home :)
It was great to have all these memories and pictures that we will cherish forever. Congratulations Karey and Tanner! Thank you for inviting us to Hawaii for your beautiful wedding!

Grammy Deary came over last night to play with babies. She taught Joss how to Hula dance. It was pretty funny. I will have to upload the video clip.

I tried to make her hair flower look Hawaiian low and behind the ear, but she squirmed too much so it just looks like a big satellite dish. Oh well!

Here is Josselyn eating her first Cheerios... as you can see, she is not such a fan.

Check up 06/17/2008

Yay, I can upload single pictures again without having to make slide shows.

I took the twins yesterday for their 9 month check up. (a little early) I wanted to get them seen before our Hawaii trip coming up.  Josselyn is 18 lbs and 26.5 in. tall. Jaxon is 16.2 lbs and 27.25 in. tall. I think they are catching up to each other. Joss seems to be thinning out a little. Jaxon is still a skinny little runt.  I am also happy to announce, they have not wanted a binki for about a month now. They are exploring all kinds of new baby foods and doing really well with all of them.  One of them is still waking up every night but is usually back to sleep after 15 minutes of rocking and a few ounces of water.
They are getting better at holding their own bottles and Jaxon is great at crawling backwards, not so great going forward. He is working on cutting his second bottom middle tooth. All in all, they are two happy healthy babies.

Happy first Fathers Day to the best daddy in the whole world! The twins light up every time they see their daddy. They love him tossing them in the air, and carrying them both around at the same time.  There is always drool smears on all the mirrors in my house because he takes the babies to kiss themselves in all the mirrors. He is so cute with them. He is a huge help to me. It is not easy having two babies to take care of at the same time. I couldn't do it without the tremendous help and support from Jason. I am so lucky to have such an involved husband who wants to help with the kids and play with them. He is THE best diaper changer, tubby giver, food feeder, lullaby singer, snuggler cuddler, and rockaby rocker and his wife and babies love him for it!

While relaxing at the pool with my friends this afternoon. I see a woman from child care carrying a white board with my name on it. I went up to her and she said "Josselyn just had the biggest blow out ever. It is all over the swing, you better come change her." Oh great. So I go in the daycare and there is Josselyn covered in poop. I mean covered. The swing was ruined. They had to unsnap the cover from the swing to get it cleaned. The belt that straps them in doesn't detach so it is pretty much ruined. So after changing her outfit and cleaning her all up. I still had 30 minutes left of my 2 hr daycare, so I went back out to the pool . 30 minutes later I went in to pick up the kids, and Jaxon had pretty much the same problem just not as bad. So after stripping down both kids and getting them all cleaned up we came home and gave the kids a bath.  Remind me never to give my babies prunes again they work a little too well.

We have a tooth! 06/13/2008

Jaxon has his first tiny tooth popping up on the bottom middle. That explains why he has been throwing such tantrums lately. Poor guy!
I can't upload single photos on this site for some reason, so I have to do a slide show if I want any pictures on it right now.

It is pretty much just normal to me now. It used to be such a task to leave the house. Now it is kinda nice to get out. I just can't buy very much stuff because it won't fit in the basket under the stroller, and I don't want to smother my kids with groceries on their laps.
I have my routine down, park the car, lift out my 50lb double stroller, twist the handle, it pops open, get out one babies car seat latch it into the stroller, snap in the other car seat, close all 3 doors, put the diaper bag in the bottom basket, put my purse on the handle, put my keys and sunglasses in the cup holder, and off we go. I see people just stopping staring at me. It is quite a production. It's not such a hassle if I am going to the mall and planning on being out for an hour. Yesterday I went to this new store "Nothing Bunt Cakes." It's this little bakery and all they sell is bunt cakes. I had to get the kids all in the stroller, walk in buy my cake, then put the kids, and stroller all back in the car. I was in the bakery for no more than 2 minutes.
Every time I take the twins anywhere, it is always the same thing. I can't walk down an isle at the grocery store without hearing whispers. "Look honey, did you see the twins?" "She has two babies!" People are lifting their kids up holding them over my stroller, "Look sweetie can you see the two babies?" "I bet you have your hands full."   I always get asked "are they twins?" Yes they are. Is one a boy and one a girl? Yes, yes, one is a boy, and one is a girl. Josselyn is decked out in a dress with a big flower on top of her head with a pink blanket. Jaxon is in cargo pants with a truck on his shirt with a blue blanket. Are these people serious? Can they not tell the difference between a boy and a girl?
One day we were at Costco and someone asked us "Is one a boy and one a girl? Jason says "No, they are twin boys.. we are just pretty sure one of them is going to be gay so we dress him in pink."

Josselyn loves the pool she splashed and played and was happy. Jaxon freaked out and buried his head in my neck and hung on for dear life. I think we have one beach baby, and perhaps a snow baby.

Taken from my camera phone, so they are kind of fuzzy.

Jaxon started crawling last night for the first time. We caught it on camera! He is so cute.

Thursday night the babies slept worse than they have since they were 3 months old. Joss was up from 1:40-3:30, then Jaxon was up from 3:35-5:30, then they were both up at 7. I think Jason and I got a combined 2 hours of sleep. My brother Zak spent the night, and he took the first shift with Josselyn for about 45 minutes then passed her on to me.  They were so fussy!
Thursday I started feeding them 3 "solid" baby food meals a day for breakfast lunch and dinner and then bottles in between meals. They had Bananas for breakfast, then Carrots for lunch, then Green beans for dinner. Up until Thursday they had just been having food for lunch, then bottles the rest of the day. This change probably upset their tummys. That is the only thing I can think of.
Auntie Ceason flew in from Arizona last night and wanted to have the twins spend the night with her over and Grandpa and Grandmas. I reluctantly agreed because they have never been away from us at night before. I was so tired that the thought of a full nights rest with no crying babies was very enticing! So we dropped the babies off at about 10:00pm with all of their diapers, and food, and clothes, and pack n' play sleeper.
I cried the whole way home, and called as soon as we got home to make sure the babies didn't miss me too much.
Jason and I were able to watch a movie and slept in until 9:00:) We went and picked up the babies this morning and even though they can't talk I know how much they missed their momma. I made Grandma take a on of pictures. They woke up a few times in the night, but they had fun, and were good babies for Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie Cece.
All in all, it was a good trial run, and hopefully next time they spend the night  it will be easier on me.

Milk Money 06/05/2008

Does this look like $260.91 to anyone? They go through one can every 3 1/2 - 4 days. So this is about 1 months worth.

Almost crawling 06/05/2008

Jaxon is getting so close! He gets up on his knees and rocks back and forth. He will flop his face forward to the ground then scoot back up to it then lunge his face to the ground then scoot back up to his knees again. It is so cute!

Eskimo kisses, biting her cheek, headbanging her, or loving her... you decide.
