This morning I heard the babies wake up and when I walked in there THIS is what I found!

Picture
Jaxon had climbed in bed with Joss, pulled the letters that spell Josselyn down, and was banging them against the wall. When I walked in he knew he was in trouble and hands me the letters while saying "No no no Joss, No no Joss," trying to pass it off like it was her. Um I don't think so buddy. You got busted red handed.
What I want to know is was she asleep when he fell in there on top of her? I bet that would have scared the crap out of her! Was she awake encouraging it? Did she help him over the edge? We will never know. I wish I had a video camera in there so bad!
It was all I could do not to crack up, because it is kinda funny, but at the same time... freaks me out!
Jason and I ran a few errands this morning, and Grandma tried to put them down for a nap. Joss was so tired and was asleep. Jaxon climbed in there on top of her, woke her up and BIT her twice! Her arm is all bruised and purple! So she screamed bloody murder, and Grandma ran in to find him on top of her. Since it wasn't a one time thing and this is now going to be a habit for him, something has to change! We separated their cribs, and since we STILL don't have the front panel (read my bitchy email here) of his crib yet, we had to turn it around and push it up against the wall. So he only has 1 possible escape route now. We padded the floor in case he falls out.

After driving to 4 stores this morning and all of them being out of stock, we ordered a crib tent  online and had to pay an extra 29.99 for it to be here by Tuesday. Until then I guess he is sleeping in bed with us at night.
Let the fun begin!

The lost footage 05/30/2009

The first 30 minute video disc we have of the babies is lost. I never got to watch it. Right after we took it it disappeared. I have been so sick over losing it and I think about it all the time. All I remember is right when Jason finally got to the hospital they were wheeling me into the operating room and I told him to hurry and grab out the video camera. There is about 30 seconds of me saying "It's baby time" and being wheeled into the operating room. Jason and I are both still in shock and you can't tell by the video just how nervous we are. Then there is a video of my first time ever holding the babies, and my first time doing kangaroo care with them both together. Those are all moments I will never get back and it makes me want to cry every time I think about the disc being lost.
On my birthday I went to dinner with my girlfriends, and when I got home Jason had found the lost footage and and had it up on my computer ready for me to watch when I got home. He had forgotten that the day the disc was full, he uploaded it to his computer and there it has been safe and sound all along. The disc is still missing, but the footage is saved on his computer.
I cannot describe how happy I was when I re-watched all those first moments again. I remember how I felt holding them together for the first time. They were 9 days old before they got to touch eachother again. It was amazing. You can see in my face that I am just beaming. Jason earned major brownie points for finding this for me. I must say it is the BEST birthday present I have ever received.
I edited the video to just show a little clip of one of my favorite parts.  Enjoy!

Grammy did Joss' hair in piggies. Here is a picture of Joss cackling while squirting herself in the face with water again.

The Zoo 05/29/2009

Last weekend we took the kids to the Zoo. Grandma and Grandpa Webster and Ant Cece came too. Joss was so sweet and just wanted to cuddle the whole time. I love it when they are in those moods. Jaxon had fun running around and playing with Grandma. Here are some pictures of our afternoon.

Notice when I ask Jaxon if he wants to give Joss a kiss or lovies he says "No" all matter of factly. Like, No thank you mom, I would not like to.
I will never get sick of her cackle laugh.

Jaxon and Josselyn's cousin Jase turned 2 yesterday. They had a BBQ party. The kids had so much fun playing with family. I can't believe what a big boy Jase is! That means just 4 more months until the twins turn 2.

Carters recall 05/19/2009

Picture

When Jaxon was a newborn he had this red rash on the back of his neck that would come and go. It was a little square spot. Both of my kids had very sensitive skin when they were newborns, but only Jaxon got this reoccurring rash. It eventually went away and hasn't been a problem since.
A mother from a multiples parenting website I frequent has a son who had a horrible rash and found out it was related to the tag-less Carters clothes he was wearing. His rash was so bad that his skin was bubbling and peeling off. I found the link on Carters website regarding a recall from the Fall of 2007 line of tag-less clothes that had a chemical in the tag-less stamp on the neck of the shirts. Evidently a lot of parents had been complaining about their children getting rashes. Carters was offering a full refund for the original value of the clothing in question. I contacted them and they told me to go ahead and send back all of Josselyn's clothing as well. I do not want to risk using it on a future child who may have sensitive skin or pass the clothes on to a friend to use on their child who may have this bad reaction. I went through all of our bins of clothes in the basement and since my twins were born in the fall of 2007 we had A LOT of Carters tag-less clothes from their fall line. I had more to send back but had borrowed them out to another mom and they have since disappeared. I ended up sending 72 pieces back. Carters even went as far as to send me a prepaid postage stamp to attach to my box of clothes so I could return them free of charge.
Well yesterday I got my check from them, $588.93! I couldn't believe it! So since this is the kids money from their clothes, I have decided to use the money to buy them their summer/fall wardrobe.
I may or may not have gone to DI, Kid to Kid, TJ Maxx, and Ross to pick up a few extra pieces of Carters fall of 07  tag-less clothes to add to my shipment. If you think it is despicable, dishonest, and shameful... then I did not. If you think it is clever, smart, and doing my duty to protect and prevent other children from suffering the same rash, then I did :)

Yesterday we took the 3 kids to Liberty park. We got them in their swim suits so they could play in the water fountains. Jaxon was the only one that wanted to get wet. I almost had to go in after him he was having so much fun. There were a bunch of big kids in there running around, then there is Jaxon right in the middle of all of them thinking he is a big kid. We let them go on the airplane ride. At first Jase was scared then he saw how much fun his cousins were having and they talked him into going on a ride. They played on all the playground equipment and had a great time. Thanks for coming with us Matt and Jase!

March of Dimes 05/17/2009

Our March of Dimes walk was on Saturday. It was such a gorgeous day. We were so happy to do our part and support this great cause. We know how lucky we are to have had such healthy 33 weekers. We had our fair share of struggles while they were in the NICU for 4 weeks, but are so blessed to have 2 happy healthy babies. You would never know they were preemies just by looking at them. Here are some pictures of our walk.
