We had Jaxon's Dr appointment today, and they decided not to do the surgery. He has what is called a Hydro seal. It may turn into a hernia, but as of right now it's not. The Dr thinks in about a year it should correct itself. If not then we will do the surgery in a year. I am sooo happy. I did not want my baby to have to have a surgery. We will just hope for the best.  Jaxon's colic seems to be getting better slowly. He used to scream every time he ate, now it is just about once a day. Both babies are doing great!

Getting big! 01/26/2008

Josselyn weight 11lbs 13 oz and is 21.7 inches long. Jaxon weighs 11lbs 4oz. and is 22 inches long.

This week we had the babies Dr appointment. They got their 3rd RSV immunization. And we found out Jaxon has a hernia. He is scheduled for surgery at Primary Children's Hospital on Thursday at 10:00am. Poor kid just cant get a break. Maybe this will be the answer for him to start feeling better.
After the Dr appointment we went on a trip to the Super Sonic to get my filthy car cleaned. Then we made a stop at the Draper Police Dept so I could have an officer make sure my car seats were installed properly. Their heads weren't even laying against the back of the seat, they kinda just hung there. So what do you know with a few little clicks the officer got their car seats to work much better.
Then I pressed my luck since I already had them strapped in the car, and diaper bag packed, and they were sleeping and mommy went shopping. Yay! I wheeled the stroller into the dressing room and bought some cute new clothes. It was quite a day we had.

It's hard to get them both to look at the camera at the same time, so this is the best I could do. Still cute though!

Today I took the babies to the Morris Murdock Travel Show to see some of my old travel friends. It was so fun to see some of my favorite travel agents and Hotel vendors that I miss. The babies did great and slept most of the time, except for when they both needed to eat at the same time. I made a stop at the Bridal Show to see my friends at All points travel. They were a big help feeding the babies for me.
It has been a lot of work, but fun as I slowly start venturing out into the world with the twins all by myself. I cant decide if it is going to keep getting easier or keep getting harder the older they get to take them out of the house.

Happy Birthday Grandma! What is more fun than hanging out with grand babies on your birthday?

RA RA RA!!!! Go Arizona State! Thanks for the onesies and hats Auntie Ceason!

Yesterday Jax was a little more cranky than usual. He was screaming so much that his face was turning red. He felt like he was burning up. I went to the store and bought a digital thermometer that you just touch to their head and it talks. It said your temperature is 102.  I called the Dr and they said that was really high for a 3 month old. We took him in at 730pm last night. Of course, by the time we got to his appointment he was the happiest he has ever been in his life, just smiling and cooing. Isn't that just how Murphy's Law goes? That was of course until they put a catheter in him to check his urine for an infection. Then they checked his ears. That made him scream bloody murder. But everything looked fine. The Doc said he just gets so worked up and mad when he screams that it just makes him hot. Evidently 102 hot.  It is probably one of those things that only a first time mother would be concerned about. Any other mom would probably say of course he is hot he has been screaming for an hour and his face is red. But I rather be safe than sorry.
On Saturday Jason went up to the Cabin, and Grandma Cindy came to spend the night and help me out. Then my mom took me and the babies to the car show that Grandpa Randy's work was putting on at the Expo Center. We are thinking about getting a bigger SUV since my X-Terra is too small. I want a car that has a big enough back seat for one of us to be able to sit between the car seats to stick pacifiers in the babies mouths, and be back there with them. My back seat is so small you would have to cut me in half to get me to fit between them. That was a fun outing. Although it was hard to navigate my enormous stroller through crowds of people.
This cute picture is what I came home to from the grocery store. Jason had both babies asleep on his arm snuggled up to one another. So cute!

Happy Babies 01/18/2008

They are getting so big! It is almost impossible for me to carry them both around at the same time. Jaxon has been so smiley the last few days. Usually his just cries. It has been so fun to see him happy. He just started to really enjoy his jumperoo today. They are both getting much more interactive, and looking around. It is so fun to see them grow and develop right in front of our eyes. I love them so much!

Wearing his bog boy jeans, and tennis shoes.

We found out that the babies fall asleep in the car, so now when they wake up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep, we strap them in their car seats and go for a ride. The first time Jason took them out, it took only 6 minutes for them to both fall asleep. The next night, they were sound asleep when we brought them inside.. for about 5 minutes, then they woke up screaming. Last night they slept for 5 hours straight after the drive! That is a record in this house!

After Jaxon's upper GI on Monday it was determined that he doesn't have the bad stomach problem we were concerned about. He just has a bad case of Reflux and Colic. So we pretty much have to just keep doing the same things we have been doing. Hopefully  he will grow out of it soon.

Auntie Ceason came out to visit for 2 weeks!

You might be the parent of twins if:
You go through 120 diapers a week
You go through a Costco 8 pack of 80 count diaper wipes in 2 weeks
You sleep an average of 3 hours per night
You have  gone to the bathroom while holding a baby
You have  gone on a drive around the block at 2:30 in the
morning during a blizzard to get the kids to fall asleep
You have spit up on your right shoulder.. and your left shoulder
You do 3-4 loads of laundry per day
It takes you 2 hours to get ready to leave the house
You go on midnight runs to Wal*Mart to buy more burp cloths because
you have gone through all 32 in one day.
You have two kids harnessed and strapped to your chest while you are
cleaning your house
The most exciting venture out of the house in your day is getting
your mail.
You hate the  sound of chimey baby swing music
You go three days before having a shower.
You realize it is 1:00 pm and you haven't brushed your teeth yet.
It takes a little prayer before applying your makeup to help the concealer to cover up the dark circles under your eyes.
You can no longer go to the mall, because your enormous stroller wont fit down the shop isles.
You have ever been thrown up on, peed on, and pooped on at the
same time.
Your breasts are exposed more times throughout the day than not.
(Or perhaps you are a stripper)
You are found at the grocery store pushing a extra tall double
wide, double stacked mongo stroller while pulling a loaded
shopping cart.

I am sure I will think of more to add to the list before the day is over :)

A proud Grandpa

A special thanks to papa! It's nice to live 2 miles from Grandparents. A few times a week Papa will come over and sleep on th couch in the front room.  He will take a baby ans sleep out there with it, and take care of one for us. It is a huge help to Jason who gets to sleep through the night so he isn't tired at work.  And a Huge help to me so I don't have to do it all by myself. Let's just hope Papa doesn't crash one of his trucks from lack of sleep! Thanks Grandpa- We love you!!

Special Delivery 01/06/2008

Special delivery, special pair
two little infants left in your care.

It won't be easy this great big task
God thought you were the one He would ask.

To guide and rear two at the same time
through fights and mishaps and lots of grime.

He will give you strength for the longest day
and He will always be there to show you the way.

Though times you will feel that you are alone,
there are a lot of twins mothers
who have two that are grown,

So with this in mind that others have survived the test.
You'll thank God for your double blessing
and do your best.
